Rental Terms and Conditions
General Terms
Supplier reserves the right to refuse or cancel booking at any time if renting requirements are not met. Ensure the driver's credit card has sufficient funds. A valid driving license and passport must be held by all drivers. Additional drivers must meet the same licence requirements; first driver included, daily charge applies for additional drivers. Airport shuttle service is free during office hours for stations outside the airport perimeter. Vehicle must be returned at the agreed rental station in the same condition, with fuel and equipment intact, normal wear excepted. Roadside assistance covers mechanical faults; driver negligence (lost keys, empty fuel) may incur fees. Reservations not picked up on time without prior notice are considered no-show and may incur a fee. Local tolls/highway fees are the driver’s responsibility. Smoking prohibited.
Security Deposit
A security deposit is required at vehicle collection, deducted from your credit card according to your insurance package. Cash, virtual, and prepaid card deposits are not accepted.
Restricted Roads / Areas of Use
Driving on dirt roads, off-road terrain, sand, or through water is strictly prohibited. Vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers. No insurance covers damage from off-road driving; €300 penalty applies regardless of damage.
Optional Items / Extras
Special equipment and optional extras may be requested at booking or pickup, subject to availability and may change without notice.
Traffic Infringements & Fines
Renter is responsible for fines (speeding, parking, toll evasion). Supplier charges an administration fee for processing.
Age Rules
Minimum age: 21 for MINI, ECONOMY, COMPACT, STANDARD; 24 for other categories. Maximum age: 75. Young/senior drivers incur additional fees.
Mileage Policy
- Unlimited mileage for rentals over 3 days. Rentals of 1–2 days have a 200 km daily limit. Excessive/abusive use may incur penalties.
Fuel Policy
Same-to-same: return with the same fuel level. Missing fuel charged plus 20€ refueling fee.
One-Way Rentals
Permitted in specific locations with 48-hour notice; one-way fee applies.
Driver Licence Rules
Valid license from country of residence. Non-Latin licenses require International Driving Permit or official translation. License must be valid for entire rental and held minimum 1 year. Additional proof of identity and address required.
Amendments to Bookings
Notify office of delays before pickup. No refund for early return, reduced days, or vehicle downgrades.
Cancellation Policy
Written cancellations only; telephone cancellations not accepted. Up to 48h before pickup: full refund. 24–48h: 50% refund. Less than 24h: no refund. Refunds may take up to 30 business days.
Compensation Policy
Unaccommodated bookings due to local office liability: compensation up to booking price, not exceeding voucher total.
Service Out of Business Hours
Available on request; fees apply for pick-up/drop-off.
Additional Driver
Daily surcharge 10€, max 100€. Max 3 additional drivers. Must meet renter requirements.
Out of Hours Service
After hours service may apply an additional charge including airport fee, payable at rental counter.
Late Return
After 60 minutes: full-day rate plus 25€ late fee.
Age Requirements
Minimum: 21 years (1 year license) for MINI, ECONOMY, COMPACT, STANDARD. Other categories: 24 years (3 years license). Young (<24) or senior (>71) drivers: 10€/day, max 100€.
Cross Border Policy
Not available for all areas. Written permission required where allowed; fees apply. Green card expenses paid directly to local authorities.
Damage Waiver
- Deductibles: 1,114.90€ MINI/ECONOMY/COMPACT, 1,486.54€ HYBRID, 2,787.25€ INTERMEDIATE SUV/STANDARD SUV/MINIVAN/9-SEATS, 3,716.34€ PREMIUM.
- CDW does not cover undercarriage, interior, windshield, mirrors, keys, antenna, incorrect fuel, unauthorized ferry transport, acts of God, terrorism, wheels/tires. Administration fee 40€ and/or Airport Fee applies. Accident Statement required; call police if third-party involved.
Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Excludes tire/wheel/interior/glass/undercarriage/damage from fuel or dangerous substances. Void if damage caused by drugs/alcohol, unauthorized drivers, racing, unlicensed driver, cross-border violations, towing/pushing, intentional or gross negligence, off-road driving, hire use, traffic law violation, or failure to secure/lock vehicle.
Delivery and Collection
Available on request; 5 km radius free within office hours. Additional charge: 1€/km + VAT. Requests via bookings@otoq.rent.
One Way Drop Policy
Available on request; unauthorized one-way drop incurs fee. Requests via bookings@otoq.rent.
Inclusive Policy
Includes unlimited mileage, CDW, third-party liability, airport fees, VAT. Additional products subject to fees and VAT.
Forms of Payment
- Accepted: Visa/MasterCard (credit/debit) in main driver’s name. AMEX credit cards accepted. Virtual/prepaid cards not accepted.
Deposit
Credit card hold for estimated rental + excess + up to 100€, released up to 30 business days post-return. Must be main driver’s card. Required deposit per car category: 557,45€ MINI/ECONOMY/COMPACT, 743,27€ HYBRID, 1,393.63€ INTERMEDIATE SUV/Standard SUV/Minivan/9-SEATS, 1,858.17€ PREMIUM.
Roadside Protection
Free 24/7. Towing outside national roads must be paid by renter.
Renter Requirements
License issued ≥12 months prior. EU/Swiss: no IDP required. Others: IDP or certified translation. Additional ID may be requested. Check local regulations before arrival. See gov.uk for UK license info.
Full Damage Waiver (FDW)
Optional, reduces CDW excess to zero if no traffic code violation. Excludes undercarriage, interior, windshield, mirrors, keys, antenna, ferry, wheels/tires, acts of God, terrorism. Cleaning fee 30–150€ for stained/dirty vehicles. Off-road towing charged.
Wheels, Underside, Glass Protection (WUG)
Requires FDW. Covers underside, windshield, mirrors, keys, antenna, not caused by traffic violation.
Supplemental Liability Protection
Included; covers third-party bodily injury/death and property damage.
Theft Protection
Covers total theft; not included by default. Key and police report required. Personal items, attempted theft, acts of God, terrorism not covered. If not included, renter liable for full vehicle value.
