General Terms
OTOQ Car Rentals reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking if rental requirements are not met. The renter must ensure sufficient available funds on the payment card.
All drivers must present a valid driving licence and passport at vehicle collection. International driving licences must be accompanied by a passport.
Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the main renter. One driver is included in the rental price; additional drivers are subject to a daily fee.
Vehicles must be returned on time and in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear.
Roadside assistance covers mechanical faults only. Costs arising from negligence (e.g. lost keys, flat battery, incorrect fuel, clutch misuse) will be charged to the renter.
Failure to collect the vehicle at the reserved time may result in a no-show fee.
Local toll charges may apply. A congestion fee of €10 applies per rental agreement.
Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
Security Deposit
A security bond is required at vehicle collection and will be pre-authorised on the renter’s card according to the applicable vehicle category deductible.
Cash deposits are not accepted.
Restricted Roads / Areas of Use
Driving on dirt roads, off-road areas, sand, beaches, or through water is strictly prohibited. All vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking systems.
Insurance coverage is void if the vehicle is used off-road. Penalty for violation: €300, plus full liability for damages.
Optional Items / Extras
Optional equipment and extras must be requested at the time of booking. Availability is not guaranteed and prices may change without prior notice.
Traffic Infringements & Fines
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines and violations incurred during the rental period.
An administration fee of €200.00 per traffic violation will be charged for processing fines.
Age Rules
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 75 years
- Young Driver (21–25): €15 per day
- Senior Driver (71–75): €15 per day
Mileage Policy
Unlimited mileage is included in the rental price.
OTOQ Car Rentals applies a fair usage policy; excessive or abusive use may result in penalties.
Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection.
Missing fuel will be charged at the local replacement rate plus a €50 service fee.
One-Way Rentals
One-way rentals are not permitted.
Unauthorised one-way drop-offs are not allowed and all resulting costs will be charged to the renter.
Driver License Rules
A valid full driving licence must be held for at least 12 months and be valid for the entire rental period.
Licences issued in non-Latin alphabets must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP) or certified translation.
Additional proof of address or identification may be required.
Delays of more than 1 hour without notice may result in booking cancellation.
Amendments to Bookings
No refunds are provided for early returns, reduced rental days, or vehicle downgrades.
Amendments may be subject to a €25 administration fee.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations are permitted up to 48 hours before rental commencement
- Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Refund processing may take up to 12 weeks
Compensation Policy
OTOQ Car Rentals is not liable for indirect losses, delays, or inability to use services. Information provided is offered “as is”.
Service Out of Business Hours
Vehicle collection or return outside normal office hours (08:00–19:00) is available.
Fee: €70 per service.
Additional Driver
Additional drivers must meet all renter requirements.
Maximum of two additional drivers. Fee: €15 per day per driver.
Late Return
Returns more than 60 minutes late will incur one full additional day’s rental charge plus a €50 late return fee.
Cross Border Policy
Cross-border travel is strictly prohibited.
Travelling between islands is permitted.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – Deductibles
- Mini: €1,300
- Compact: €1,400 – €1,700
- Mini SUV / SUV (Manual): €2,300 – €2,600
- SUV (Automatic): €2,300 – €2,600
- Mini Vans / Vans: €2,300
- Premium: €2,700
CDW does not cover underside, interior, windshields, mirrors, wheels/tyres, keys, antenna, incorrect fuel, ferry transport, natural disasters, or acts of terrorism.
A police report is mandatory for all accidents or damages.
Damage Waiver Exclusions / Voids
Coverage is void in cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use by unauthorised drivers, racing, towing, off-road driving, illegal activity, negligence, or misuse.
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection services are not offered.
Inclusive Policy
The rental price includes unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection (TP), Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP), and VAT.
Optional extras and additional protection are subject to extra charges and VAT.
Forms of Payment
- Accepted cards: Visa and MasterCard (credit or debit)
- Card must be in the main driver’s name
- Not accepted: AMEX, prepaid cards, virtual cards, V-Pay, Maestro, Revolut, Apple Pay, Google Pay
Deposit
A card pre-authorisation equal to the applicable deductible will be held.
Release of funds depends on the issuing bank and may take several business days.
Roadside Protection
Free 24/7 roadside assistance is included for mechanical faults only.
Towing or recovery due to prohibited use or negligence will be charged to the renter.
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP)
Included coverage limits: €2,200,000 per person for bodily injury or death and €2,000,000 for third-party property damage.
Theft Protection
Covers total vehicle theft only. Deductible applies according to vehicle category (€1,200–€2,700).
Does not cover attempted theft, lost keys, personal belongings, or force majeure events.
A police report is required.
