Rental Terms and Conditions
General Terms
Supplier may refuse or cancel booking if renting requirements are not met. Ensure the driver's credit/debit card has sufficient funds. A valid driving license and passport must be held by all drivers. Additional drivers must meet the same licence requirements; first driver included, daily charge applies for additional drivers. Airport shuttle service is free during office hours for stations outside airport perimeter. Vehicle must be returned at agreed station in same condition, with fuel and equipment intact, normal wear excepted. Roadside assistance covers mechanical faults; driver negligence (lost keys, empty fuel) may incur fees. Reservations not picked up on time without notice are considered no-show; fees may apply. Local tolls/highway fees are the driver’s responsibility. Smoking prohibited.
Security Deposit
Security deposit required at collection, deducted from your credit/debit card according to your insurance package. Cash deposits not accepted.
Restricted Roads / Areas of Use
Driving on dirt roads, off-road terrain, sand, or through water is strictly prohibited. Vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers. No insurance covers off-road damage; €300 penalty applies regardless of damage.
Optional Items / Extras
Special equipment or extras may be requested at booking or pickup, subject to availability and change without notice.
Traffic Infringements & Fines
Renter is responsible for fines (speeding, parking, toll evasion). Supplier charges administration fee.
Age Rules
Minimum age: 21 for MINI, ECONOMY, COMPACT, INTERMEDIATE; 24 for other categories. Maximum age: 85. Young/senior drivers incur additional fees.
Mileage Policy*
- Rates include unlimited mileage.
*OtoQ reserves the right to act if usage is deemed excessive/abusive.
Fuel Policy
Same-to-same: return with same fuel level. Missing fuel charged plus 20€ refueling fee.
One-Way Rentals
Permitted with 48-hour prior notice; one-way fee applies.
Driver Licence Rules
Valid license from country of residence required. Non-Latin licenses require International Driving Permit or official translation. License must be valid for rental duration and held ≥1 year. Additional proof of identity and address required.
Amendments to Bookings
Inform office immediately of delays. No refund for early return, reduced days, or downgrades.
Cancellation Policy
Written cancellations only; phone cancellations not accepted. Up to 48h before pickup: full refund. 24–48h: 50% refund. Less than 24h: no refund. Refunds may take up to 30 business days.
Compensation Policy
Unaccommodated bookings due to local office liability: compensation up to booking price, not exceeding voucher total.
Service Out of Business Hours
Available on request; fees apply for pick-up, drop-off, or both.
Full Terms
Additional Driver
Must meet renter requirements. Daily surcharge 5€, max 50€. Max 3 additional drivers.
Out of Hours Service
After hours service incurs 50€ charge including airport fee, payable at rental counter.
Late Return
After 60 minutes: full-day rate plus 25€ fee.
Age Requirements
Minimum: 21 years (1 year license) for MINI, ECONOMY, COMPACT, INTERMEDIATE. Other categories: 24 years (3 years license). Young (<24) or senior (>71) drivers: 10€/day, max 100€.
Cross Border Policy
Not available in all areas. Written permission required; fees apply. Green card expenses paid to local authorities.
Damage Waiver
- Deductibles: 450€ MINI/ECONOMY, 650€ COMPACT/INTERMEDIATE, 1200€ HYBRID SUV/MINIVAN/9-SEATS, 1500€ PREMIUM/LUXURY.
CDW excludes undercarriage, interior, windshield, mirrors, keys, antenna, incorrect fuel, unauthorized ferry, acts of God, terrorism, wheels/tires. Accident Statement required; administration fee 40€ and/or Airport Fee applies. Police must be called if third-party involved.
Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Excludes tire/wheel/interior/glass/undercarriage/fuel/dangerous substances. Void if damage caused by drugs/alcohol, unauthorized drivers, racing, unlicensed driver, cross-border violations, towing/pushing, intentional/gross negligence, off-road, hire use, traffic violation, or failure to secure/lock vehicle.
Delivery and Collection
Available on request; extra charge 1€/km + VAT. Requests via bookings@otoq.rent.
One Way Drop Policy
On request; unauthorized one-way drop incurs fee. Requests via bookings@otoq.rent.
Inclusive Policy
Includes unlimited mileage, CDW, TP, third-party liability, airport fees, VAT. Additional products subject to fees and VAT.
Forms of Payment
- Accepted: Visa/MasterCard (credit & debit) in main driver’s name. Virtual/prepaid cards not accepted.
Deposit
Credit/debit card hold for estimated rental + excess + up to 100€, released up to 30 business days post-return. Must be main driver’s card. Required deposit per car category: 450€ MINI/ECONOMY, 650€ COMPACT/INTERMEDIATE, 1200€ HYBRID SUV/MINIVAN/9-SEATS, 1500€ PREMIUM/LUXURY.
Roadside Protection
Free 24/7. Towing outside national roads paid by renter.
Renter Requirements
License ≥12 months. EU/Swiss: no IDP required. Others: IDP or certified translation. Additional ID may be requested. Check local regulations. UK license holders: see gov.uk.
License Acceptance
National license accepted from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK. National with Latin characters accepted from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, etc. International license accepted from Australia, Canada, Japan, North Korea, USA, etc. China licenses accepted with English translation.
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP)
Covers up to 1,220,000€ per person for bodily injury/death and up to 1,220,000€ for third-party property damage.
Theft Protection (TW)
- Deductibles: 450€ MINI/ECONOMY, 650€ COMPACT/INTERMEDIATE, 1200€ HYBRID SUV/MINIVAN/9-SEATS, 1500€ PREMIUM/LUXURY.
Attempted theft, key loss, personal belongings, acts of God, terrorism not covered. Police report and key required. If not included, renter liable for full vehicle value.
