Rental Terms and Conditions

General Terms

• Supplier reserves the right to refuse or cancel booking at any time if you do not meet renting requirements.
• Please ensure that there are sufficient funds available at your debit or credit card.
• A valid driving license and passport must be held from all drivers. Non-local licenses require a passport. Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the main driver.
• The first driver is included in the rates. Each additional driver incurs a daily charge.
• Roadside assistance is included for mechanical faults. Driver negligence (lost keys, empty fuel tank, etc.) may incur a fee.
• No-show (failure to collect vehicle on time) may result in a fee.
• Vehicle must be returned on time and in original condition (normal wear excepted).
• You are responsible for tolls and highway fees.
• No smoking is permitted in the vehicle.

Security Bond

• A security bond is required and will be deducted from your credit card.
• Cash deposits are not accepted.

Restricted Roads / Areas of Use

• Driving on unpaved or off-road terrain is prohibited. You will not be insured and are fully liable for damage.

OFF ROAD Driving

• Driving on dirt, sand, off-road, or through water is strictly prohibited.
• All vehicles are GPS tracked.
• No insurance covers damage caused by off-road driving.
• Penalty: €300 regardless of damage.

Optional Items / Extras

• Available on request, subject to availability and may change without notice.

Traffic Infringements

• You are responsible for fines (speeding, parking, tolls, etc.).
• Administration fees apply for processing.

Driver Age Requirements

• 21+ for MINI, ECONOMY (license 1+ year).
• 24+ for LUXURY, MINI VANS, SUVs (license 3+ years).
• Under 24: $12/day surcharge, max $120.
• 72–85: $12/day senior surcharge, max $120.
• Maximum rental age: 85.

Mileage Policy

• Unlimited mileage with fair use policy.
• OtoQ reserves the right to penalize excessive or abusive use.

Fuel Policy

• Like-for-like. Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level.
• Missing fuel charged + $25 refueling fee.

One-Way Rentals

• Not permitted.

Driver License Rules

• All drivers must carry a valid full license.
• Non-Latin licenses require IDP or certified translation.
• License must be valid for the rental period and held for at least 1 year.
• Additional ID and proof of address may be required.

Delayed Pickup

• Contact office immediately if delayed.
• After 1 hour, booking is auto-cancelled.

Early Returns / Downgrades

• No refunds for early returns or downgrades.

Service Outside Normal Hours

• Available for $50 per pickup/drop-off.

Additional Drivers

• Must meet all requirements.
• $7/day per additional driver, max $70.
• Max 2 additional drivers allowed.

Late Return

• After 60 mins late: full-day rate + $25 late fee.

Cross Border Policy

• Not allowed.

Damage Waiver

• Deductible: $1800 for MINI/ECONOMY/INTERMEDIATE, $2500 for SUV/LUXURY/VAN.
• CDW does not cover undercarriage, interior, windshield, mirrors, key damage, tires, wrong fuel, ferry transport without permission, or illegal use.
• Police report required for coverage.
• D.A.F. of $40 + airport fee applies in case of damage or theft.

Delivery and Collection

• On request. Free within 15km during office hours.
• Beyond 15km: $0.80/km including airport fee.

One-Way Drop Policy

• Not available.

Inclusive Policy

• Includes unlimited mileage, CDW, Theft Protection, Supplemental Liability, airport fee, VAT.
• Extras not included are subject to VAT and airport fee.

Forms of Payment

• Renter must use credit card in main driver’s name (Visa or MasterCard).
• Debit cards not accepted for deposit.
• Deposit: $500 + up to $150 fuel hold.
• Refunds may take up to 30 days.

Roadside Protection

• Free 24/7 roadside assistance.
• Negligence (lights left on, lost keys, off-road use, etc.) charged at renter’s expense.

Renter Requirements

• License issued 12+ months prior.
• EU/Swiss licenses accepted without IDP.
• Non-Latin licenses require IDP + national license.
• China licenses accepted with translation.
• Additional ID may be requested.

Cleaning Fees

• Excessive dirt: $30–$150 cleaning fee.

Supplemental Liability Protection

• Included up to $60,000 per person for injury/death and $60,000 property damage.

Theft Protection

• Deductible: $1800 for MINI/ECONOMY/INTERMEDIATE, $2500 for SUV/LUXURY/VAN.
• Not covered: attempted theft, key loss, personal items, acts of God, terrorism.
• Police report and keys required for coverage.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation up to 48h before pickup.
• No-show may incur a fee (unless COVID-related).
• Refunds may take up to 12 weeks.

Compensation Policy

For the rare case of unaccommodated bookings that fall on the local office’s liability, the potentially approved compensation amount for the entitled customer will be up to the booking price and must not exceed the total booking price as displayed on the otoQ voucher the customer received upon booking confirmation.

Booking Information

• Booking confirmed once deposit processed and voucher issued.
• Deposit non-refundable after confirmation.
• 2% credit card surcharge may apply.
• Check all details immediately; changes may not be possible later.

Information Disclaimer

• Rates may be incorrect due to errors. Supplier may correct and offer option to cancel.

Liability

• Supplier not liable for direct/indirect damages, accidents, or loss of enjoyment from website use.

Amendments

• Changes may be treated as new bookings with new rates.
• $25 alteration fee applies.

Vehicle Capacity

• Do not exceed legal passenger capacity; insurance void if exceeded.
• Luggage capacity is approximate.
